City Fields given go ahead - 2,500 homes to be built in Wakefield
Wakefield Council’s planning committee voted through a proposal to build 500 homes as part of the City Fields redevelopment at a meeting yesterday.
Architects firm Spawforths, on behalf of Miller Homes, submitted a planning application for the first part of the scheme, which includes a new by-pass for the East side of the city.

The application also includes the first phase of the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road.
In the long term, the scheme could attract new jobs and £500m of investment, creating one of the biggest regeneration initiatives ever seen in the city under a master plan for the area.
