A Wakefield man has been left heartbroken after his  beloved pet dog  was stolen from outside a shop

Flora, a female Cocker Spaniel, was believed to have been stolen from outside the Co-op store, in Outwood, after the owner called for a few essentials on Monday at  around 16:15

And now owner Tony has been left devastated after being separated from the dog which he adored.

A Facebook group has been created to help find Flora.

Posting on the page members wrote: "Tony lives alone and like many others has found the last nine months incredibly lonely due to coronavirus restrictions.

"Walking Flora is the highlight of his day and helped him cope."

Thousands of people have joined the group and the search to find Flora and bring her home safely.
