Leeds United boss: ‘It’s looking promising’
A 1-0 win at Burton last night – courtesy of Luke Varney’s first half goal – made it seven matches without defeat and the manager is pleased with the way his players have been building towards the season proper, which kicks off with a Capital One Cup tie against Shrewsbury on Saturday.
He has been gradually bedding in his new signings, the latest of which, right-back Lee Peltier and midfielder Rodolph Austin played their first game at Burton.

“You wouldn’t have thought that they were new to the team. They settled in straight away.
“We’re still lacking a few goals, but we’ve improved every time we’ve played.
“I thought it was a good work-out, no holds barred and nobody holding back. It’s looking quite promising at the minute.”
