Business manager Peter Taylor said: “The walkers wore dinosaur suits and there were toys, stickers and badges for children completing laps of the lake.

"Members of the public were very supportive, joining in with the walkers, applauding and contributing to the collection.

"All proceeds are for the therapy and rehabilitation sessions at the centre.

"The event was created by some younger members of the centre who, after being assisted by the staff in a joint project with the psychology department at Pinderfields Hospital, developed the day to acknowledge the help they received.”

The charity is based on Almshouse Lane in Wakefield city centre, opposite The Ridings Shopping Centre.
